Chateau Figeac, Saint Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classe B, one of the "big boys" in Saint Emilion, let alone Bordeaux and the whole world. If you ever come to Saint Emilion you must schedule a visit of the winery, not expensive 10 euros, but maybe the only way you'll ever get a taste of their wine without spending some big bucks.

One of the rooms in which their wine is stored in oak barrels.

The climactic moment, enough already with the vinification process, your varietals, cold maceration ... let me taste the wine for god's sake!!

We visited Figeac while they were harvesting the grapes, a treat for those interested in wine. Above, another room of barrels, with each barrel containing a volume equivalent to approximately 300 bottles. I think there is enough in this room for me.

Chateau La Brede Bike Tours France

Above and below is pictured the Chateau de la Brede, slightly south of Bordeaux. The Chateau was home to the 18th century writer and political commentator Montesquieu, famous for his writings about the separation of powers in governments, something we take for granted in democratic systems. You can read more about him here if you want.

    Saint Emilion Wine Tours

Saint Emilion at night, beautiful and quiet, and extremely boring for teenagers.

    Saint Emilion Wine Tours

Cobblestones that are way more fun to look at, and no fun at all to ride a bike across.

    ... and not a mouse!

    Pitray Sunset

Chateau Pitray with the setting sun, not bad especially with the ivy turning red for added effect.

    Harvest time, ready to go.

The view out the bedroom window of my grandmother's room. I do believe she may have had the best room in the house.
